Amanda Stierwalt

Founder & Clinician

Amanda Stierwalt is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese medicine practitioner based in Hendersonville, North Carolina. With a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University and a Masters from the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, Amanda has dedicated her career to helping people achieve optimal health and wellness through integrative care.

Inspired by her grandmother’s deep connection to the natural world and her parents’ bountiful gardens, Amanda has always had a profound appreciation for the healing power of plants and the body’s innate ability to restore balance. After completing her studies, she returned to her hometown of Hendersonville in 2003 to open Hendersonville Acupuncture, and in 2020, she expanded her offerings by founding Brightwater Wellness.  At the heart of Amanda’s practice is a deep love for people and a belief in the body’s wisdom. She combines her expertise in traditional Chinese medicine with a holistic, personalized approach, empowering her patients to take an active role in their health journey. Whether through acupuncture, herbal remedies, or lifestyle guidance, Amanda’s goal is to help her clients achieve lasting well-being and greater harmony in mind, body, and spirit.

When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Amanda immersed in nature, hiking the scenic trails in Western NC or spending time with her husband and two children. Her passion for the outdoors and connection to the natural world continue to inspire her work and her commitment to helping others thrive.

Amber Addison

Clinician

Amber Addison, MS, LAc, Dipl. Ac. is a dedicated practitioner of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, holding a master’s degree in the field. With a relentless thirst for knowledge, she delves into biochemistry and neuroscience to complement her expertise. As a licensed acupuncturist and nationally certified diplomat of acupuncture, Amber’s passion lies in improving the quality of life for her clients. Her mission extends beyond the clinic as she endeavors to empower individuals with tools for self-maintenance.

When not healing in the clinic, Amber can be found exploring the woods with her spouse and beloved dog, experimenting in the kitchen with loved ones, or traversing the globe in search of new experiences.

Mariana Massey

Clinician

Mariana discovered acupuncture and Chinese medicine more than 20 years ago when she was working as a healthcare administrator for a healthcare system in West Virginia. She has been a strong proponent ever since. She’s continually amazed at how seeking treatment for one issue opened the door to greater healing and overall wellness.

When Mariana isn’t at the clinic, you’ll find her getting creative with pottery, turning wood into beautiful pieces, or practicing yoga. She’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking, biking, boating, camping, traveling, and gardening. Mariana calls Hendersonville, NC home, where she lives with her family, her rescued dog Athena-Lucy, and her not-so-little cat, Little Kitty. She’s thrilled to be part of the Brightwater Wellness team, helping care for patients and supporting their journeys to better health.

acupuncture

Think of it as your body’s ultimate reset button—a way to recalibrate, rejuvenate, and revitalize. With tiny needles that pack a big punch, you’ll find relief in places you didn’t even know needed it. And don’t worry, it’s more of a tingle than a sting. In fact, you might just start looking forward to your next session.

dry needling

(sports medicine acupuncture)

When your muscles are acting up and no amount of stretching seems to help, it’s time to call in the big guns—or rather, the tiny needles. This isn’t your average acupuncture; it’s acupuncture with a sporty twist. Perfect for athletes or anyone whose body could use a little extra TLC, dry needling targets those stubborn knots and muscle pains, helping you bounce back faster and stronger. Whether you’re aiming for a new personal best or just trying to get through your day without a wince, we’ve got a needle for that.

herbal medicine

Mother Nature’s pharmacy at your service. Customized plant-powered remedies that will make you feel like a million bucks. Whether you’re looking to boost your energy, calm your mind, or soothe your digestion, our herbal blends are here to help you feel like the best version of yourself.

moxibustion

You’re getting warmer…. Burning Moxa (a dried herb), near your acupuncture points creates a cozy sensation that penetrates deep into your muscles and joints. Whether you’re battling the winter chill or just need a little extra warmth, your body will thank you for this gentle, comforting therapy.

gua sha

Picture this: a smooth, rounded tool gliding across your skin, gently scraping away stress and tension while boosting circulation. That’s Gua Sha. It might sound a little odd, but trust us, it works wonders. This ancient technique helps your body detox and relax, leaving you feeling lighter, looser, and refreshed.

cupping

Suction cups aren’t just for octopuses. This ancient technique involves placing suction cups on your skin to improve blood flow and relieve muscle tension. It’s a bit like a deep tissue massage, but with an extra boost of healing power. The result? Muscles that feel more relaxed, joints that move more freely, and a body that’s ready to take on anything.

nutritional counseling

Help turn your diet into a health-boosting feast, with dietary advice and guidance tailored to support your unique needs. Whether you’re looking to enhance your treatment outcomes, achieve specific health goals, or just want to eat better, we’ll help you make food choices that support your well-being.

naet

(Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique)
Say goodbye to allergies and sensitivities with NAET, a holistic approach that combines acupuncture, acupressure, and other modalities to kick those pesky symptoms to the curb. Whether you’re dealing with seasonal allergies, food intolerances, or other sensitivities, this treatment helps retrain your body to react more calmly.

neurofeedback

Neurofeedback is like a personal trainer for your mind, helping it function more optimally. This non-invasive therapy works by monitoring your brainwaves and providing feedback, helping to improve mood, focus, and overall mental performance. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or just want to boost your cognitive game, neurofeedback helps your brain find its groove, so you can feel more balanced, focused, and in control.

I can not speak highly enough about Amanda and the team at Brightwater Wellness. Amanda is incredibly knowledgeable and comes to her practice with full heart and genuine care for each and everyone of her clients. I am so glad to be reunited back with her after a long stint on the west coast. I have three kids 7 and under and my body is definitely in need of repair and attention. I feel better every time I leave her office! Beyond grateful for her sessions.”

- Amy

I feel so lucky to have found Amanda! I had been battling chronic migraines for about a year before a friend referred me to Amanda. She is very thoughtful in her approach and really took the time to figure out what would work best for me. Thanks to her treatments I’ve had a dramatic decrease in the frequency of my migraines which has been amazing.”
